Oak Lake Fair thrills the crowd

Just a few highlights of Oak Lake Fair

On a perfect July 23rd morning, Oak Lake Fair parade drew a crowd to enjoy the commercial, family and organizations who shined up their floats. Two pipers and the Legion float led the way.

Antique vehicles were a classy way to tour the streets. The old tractors were amazing. Replica tractors stole the show, some of them driven by youth; these are cleverly crafted small versions of the real thing.

And one of the unique fellows in the Oak Lake Fair Parade is the tall man, bending low to give out candy.

One of the first items in the fair itself was the pig scramble. Another unique item, aside from the regular livestock and horse show, was a 3D archery event held in the rink.

On the fairgrounds there were a number of tasty food venues to choose from.

Around town, the Oak Lake Museum was open, a treasure to connect the generations to the roots of the pioneers.
