Six youths charged after break-in and theft

Fingerprint dust was left behind on Thompson Citizen and Nickel Belt News reporter Kyle Darbyson's computer after Thompson RCMP forensic identification services processed the scene for evidence after a break-in sometime between March 23 and March 26.

Six youths have been charged after a vehicle belonging to a Thompson business was stolen following a break-in in the early hours of March 25.

Thompson RCMP located the vehicle and police dog Egan and his handler tracked down the six youths, three of whom were remanded into custody with the other three later released.

"Thanks to the quick cooperation of the business, Thompson RCMP were able to locate the vehicle and apprehend these youths," said Thompson RCMP Const. Sandy Deibert in a news release.

The office of the Thompson Citizen and Nickel Belt News was also the scene of a break-in sometimes between March 23 and March 26. Thieves stole two computer and several cameras from the building and attempted to break into the cash register and safe.
