Theft and assault concern us

During the week of June 20th to June 26, the Westman RCMP dealt with 68 police occurrences at the following locations:

June 21 – Virden for a report of a theft from a residence. After investigation, a 28-year-old female was arrested for possession of property obtained by crime. She was remanded into custody.
June 21 – a dwelling unit in Virden for a report of a break and enter. It was reported that the suspect had also caused damage to property inside the unit. Police located the 24-year-old male suspect still at the scene. Queries showed he also had several warrants for his arrest. He was remanded into custody.
June 21 – a residence in Sioux Valley for a report that a window on the house was smashed. Subsequent to investigation, a 32-year-old female was arrested for mischief. She was released on a future Court date. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the event.
June 21 – Virden for a report of a missing person. It was reported that the 24-year-old male didn’t make it to work. As it turned out, the person had been previously arrested and remanded into custody for a previous break and enter that occurred earlier that morning.
June 22 – Melita for a report of a 32-year-old male who broke a window at a dwelling unit, and then broke in to a family members residence. He was located, arrested and remanded into custody. The 32-year-old male is facing charges of break and enter, mischief, and for failing to comply with a release order.
June 23 – RCMP were contacted by the CP police who reported two girls on the train tracks. Extensive patrols were made, they were not located.
June 23 – Sioux Valley for a report of a domestic assault. After investigation, a 51-year-old male was arrested for assault causing bodily harm, and mischief. A 37-year-old female was arrested for assault. They were both released on a future Court date on the condition they don’t have any contact or communication with each other.
June 24 – Sioux Valley for a report of a domestic assault. Subsequent to investigation, a 40-year-old male was arrested for assault. It was also determined that he was failing to comply with a release order. He was remanded into custody.
June 24 – Oak Lake for a report of a theft from a storage unit. A hockey bag was amongst the stolen items. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any information pertaining to this crime is encouraged to contact the Virden RCMP. An anonymous tip can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers.
June 24 – Sioux Valley for a report of a missing Youth female. It was believed that the youth was intoxicated trying to avoid her family and police. She has since been located safe.
June 24 – a local business in Virden for a request to do a wellbeing check on a female. The female was described to be sleeping in a common area. When she was woken, she advised her soul was in Avril Lavigne. She was transported to the hospital for further assistance.
June 26 – RCMP were conducting routine patrols in Sioux Valley when a concerned grandmother approached police to report that an individual used a firearm to scare her grandchildren. The firearm was seized, the investigation is ongoing.
Westman RCMP also responded to three false alarms and three traffic collisions. 10 traffic enforcement actions were undertaken during this reporting period.
