On March 26, 2018, at approximately 10:30 pm, Thompson RCMP received a report of an assault at a residence. When officers attended, they found a 51-year-old female severely injured. She was transported to hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. A 39-year-old male was also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Conan Lewis, 21, was arrested at the scene. He is charged with Second Degree Murder and remanded into custody, scheduled to appear in court on March 29, 2018, in Thompson. The accused and the victim were known to each other.
RCMP Thompson Major Crime Services, Winnipeg Major Crime Services and RCMP Forensic Identification Services are assisting with this ongoing investigation.
