Golf tournament

A very busy day at the Miniota Golf Course on June 10 for their Spring tournament. 26 teams foursomes for a total of 104 golfers enjoyed the day with teams of ladies, mens and mixed.  Some of the winning teams: Men’s Lowest Score: Travis Sheane’s team; Women’s Lowest Score: Sharon McKenzie’s team; Mixed Lowest: Jamie Brown’s team; Men’s Most Honest Team: North Mountain Welding; Women’s Most Honest: Gwen Clarke’s team; Mixed Most Honest: Dylan Bonchuk’s team. Competitions in closest to the string, longest putt and closest to the hole also netted winners. A Putting Competition sponsored by the Daycare saw first place to Graham Freeman and second to Keenan Lewis.  As well there was a 50/50 draw, golf ball draw and a Chinese auction with winners receiving some great prizes.  Burgers were barbecued by Fusion Credit Union staff throughout the day and a beef and pork cold plate supper was enjoyed by all to end the day.

A short story shared with the graduates on Sunday:  I asked a wise man, “Tell me sir, in which field could I make a great career?”  He said with a smile, “Be a good human being. There is a lot of opportunity in this area, and very little competition.”  -Author Unknown.
