The morning saw students competing in individual events with the Grade 5-8 students running the events, and in the afternoon K-8 students participated in group events such as relays and tug-o-war. A barbecue was held at noon, and the daycare kids and staff were on hand for cinnamon buns and lemonade sales. A large turnout of parents and grandparents cheered on the students.

Fellowship and refreshments were held in the Miniota Rink waiting room where community members were pleased to meet Al’s children, Paige and Carter McKenzie, of Brandon as well as Al’s siblings Lauree Hampton, of Brandon and Bill & Sandra McKenzie, of Birtle, along with extended family members.

PRINCESS LODGE By Janice Simpson

SAIL put on a lovely dinner June 14. Our entertainment was Alex and Gabrielle Thiessen’s boys Indiana and Bennett, from Oak Lake. They both played the piano, very enjoyable.

Bill Bowles from Elkhorn visited Ethel Bowles on Saturday, June 17.

Not much news, but here’s a little joke:

A little fellow worked in a cheese factory. His boss said to him, you are a good worker so I’d like to give you a gift. The boss wrapped up a big round piece of cheese and gave it to him. The little fellow didn’t have a car, so he had to roll it home. Things were going fine until he came to a hill.

The cheese went fast and faster. Finally rolled up against a fence. A man in a fancy car saw the cheese, stopped and put it in his car.

He said to his wife, ‘I got some nacho cheese for you.’ She said, ‘You silly old man. How do you know it’s nacho cheese?’ The husband said, ‘Well I saw a little fellow running down the side walk screaming it’s nacho cheese, it’s not your cheese!’
