If longevity is the key to success as prescribed by legendary commodity trader and author Ed Seykota, Kullberg’s Home Furnishings is more than established as a pillar of Virden’s business community.

Established in the mid-1980s, Kullberg’s has firmly entrenched the key aspects of that success; trust, reliability and dedication to its customers. This is underlined with a drive to go the extra mile to exceed their customer’s expectations.

As a company, Kullberg’s originally opened in Brandon more than eight decades ago. It is entering its third generation of family ownership under the current leadership of Richard Kullberg.

The company opened its Virden location 36 years ago, providing a convenient location for furniture and appliances that otherwise would not be available locally. The move also widened its market coverage further into Saskatchewan.

Today, Kullberg’s is one of 145 members of the BrandSource Canada distribution circuit, which has 4500 locations throughout North America. The outlet - which is also online at www.kullbergs.ca- stocks a wide range of furniture and appliances from about a dozen suppliers. These include Pallister, La-Z-Boy, Defehr, Ashley, Best, Sealy and Sterns and Foster, Dream Star, Frigidaire, Frigidaire Gallery and Professional, Electrolux, Samsung, Danby and others.

All of it is displayed at their large, convenient store at 346 King Street East. Here, a staff of three including manager Phil Brooking ensures everyone who walks in the door gets the attention that fulfills their needs. Brooking is continually seeking potential offerings that will pique the interest of his clients. He keeps his finger on the pulse of the industry, regularly attending trade shows to cycle new and interesting furniture and appliance styles and technologies.

But it’s not only solid, consistent service and products that make Kullberg’s a vital member of the community. The company’s mission is to provide its neighbours with an enjoyable personalized buying experience they can’t get at larger establishments.

This goes for its philanthropic efforts as well. Kullberg’s focuses on the needs of Virdenites, providing the highest priority to local charities, events and initiatives with its sponsorship budget.

After three and a half decades of operation in Virden, Kullberg’s Home Furnishings sits firmly as one of the primary furniture and appliance establishments in southwest Manitoba and southeast Saskatchewan. Being privately, family-owned, they can go further to meet your needs than their larger competition in major centres.

Trust, honesty and a commitment to their community; it’s the recipe Kullberg’s has used for decades.

And it’s working.
