To the parents, guardians, and concerned citizens of Fort La Bosse School Division:
With the recent changes to our schools’ reopening plan, mandating masks for ages 5 and up, and allowing vaccine administration in schools, we want to bring a few things to your attention.
It is broadly declared that the mandates are put in place for our health, but we remind you health includes the mental, emotional, social, and behavioral pieces of the human experience.
Studies have confirmed that children are poor Covid-19 spreaders - 99.968% of children are not at risk of contracting Covid-19 at school, and a study of 10 million people showed “ZERO asymptomatic transmissions of the virus.” Wearing a mask is not providing the protection people think it does. Masks do not prevent transmission of Covid-19. Masks are neither effective nor safe, and contribute to stress, anxiety, and disruption of normal respiratory and cardiac patterns and measurements. They have been ruled physically and psychologically damaging to children, and deemed to violate their rights.
These are scientific facts, proven during the 2020-2021 pandemic and in years past - in 2008, doctors found "the increased rate of (viral) infection in mask-wearers may be due to a weakening of immune function during mask use." Breathing and immune function are intimately related.
FLBSD is requesting that parents disclose their children’s vaccination status, to “minimize learning disruptions and participation in school activities for fully immunized students,” who will be exempt from self-isolation requirements. This implies unlawful discrimination against unvaccinated children, and is in violation of sections 2 and 7 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms – “freedom of conscience and religion” and “the right to life, liberty and the security of the person.”
Meanwhile, research has confirmed that vaccinated individuals also transmit the virus, and have an increased risk for breakthrough infection compared to those with natural immunity. The overall survival rate of minors without vaccination is 99.997%. Vaccinations in 12–17-year-olds have been associated with an increased risk of myocarditis, and there is no long-term safety or efficacy data to substantiate their use.
We respectfully request that FLBSD remove the mask mandate and prohibit Public Health from entering school property to give Covid-19 injections for the duration of the 2021-2022 school year for the safety, security, and physical, mental, emotional, social, behavioral well-being of ALL children.
Choice. "The power of choosing." Our power to choose is being unlawfully taken from us, from our children. We must choose to stand. Do not sit silently while our children's futures are mandated. We have a duty as citizens of freedom to protect our children's future.
