Re: What happened at MB Hydro (Virden Empire-Advance, March 30, 2018)

Brian Pallister tells us, "It is an honour and a sacred trust. Everything our government does passes through the filter of what is best for our citizens and our province. Not what is best for one group of citizens or one part of the province, but for all citizens in all parts of Manitoba."

I often think that our premier is still somewhat disorientated, as he was during his vacation to New Mexico in Nov. 2017, and while hiking suffered serious injury to his arm.

He mentions the government passes "everything" through a filter for what's best for citizens and Manitoba.

I would call that filter a sieve, especially when it comes to environment and water protection!

Preserving our water sources is one of the most significant challenges facing the people of Manitoba, Canada and the world.

Yet, the people who care and openly voice their concerns for animal rights, water sources and the state of Lake Winnipeg are referred to as alarmists, activists and detractors. They are ridiculed and often humiliated for their thankless efforts.

Where is the sacred trust? It is shameful how our waters are being mistreated and taken for granted. Water deserves respect and gratitude, not abuse and intolerance.
