Precious Cargo: my year driving the kids on School Bus 3077 by Craig Davidson: Scotiabank Giller Prize Finalist for Cataract City. In 2008, Craig, saw a flyer in his mailbox “Bus Drivers Wanted”.  It was the first step toward a new career. He takes us along for the ride as he shows his evolving relationship with each of the students as they struggle physically as well as emotionally and socially. 

Forgiveness: a gift from my grandparents by Mark Sakamoto: When the Second World War broke out, Ralph chose to serve his country overseas while in Vancouver, Mitsue and her family were expelled and endured manual labor in a rural area. After the war, a generation later, Ralph’s daughter and Mitsue’s son fell in love at a high school dance.
