RCMP investigate B & E's; help out at Melita Medical Centre

During the week of Aug. 2 to Aug. 8, Westman RCMP dealt with 58 police activities, and were dispatched to the following locations:

 

 

Aug. 2 – Sioux Valley for a report from a female caller that she wanted to go to jail because she strangled someone and killed them. A name of the potential victim was provided. Police conducted a wellbeing check on that person, and determined he was safe. The 30-year-old female caller is now facing public mischief charges.

 

Aug. 3 – Sioux Valley for a report of a disturbance at a residence. Police attended and learned the intoxicated male at the residence causing the disturbance also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and transported to the Virden detachment. He was released on a future Court date the following morning when sober.

 

Aug. 4 – Virden for a report of break and enter to a residence. Subsequent to investigation, a 31-year-old male identified and was arrested for breaking and entering. He was released on a future Court date.

 

Aug. 5 – Virden for a report of a break and enter to a storage unit. The investigation is ongoing.

 

Aug. 5 – Melita for a report that EMS was requesting for help with a patient. It was learned that an intoxicated male with a hand injury attended the Medical Centre, and then punched a glass door causing significant lacerations to his hand. He was arrested for mischief and immediately transported to the hospital. He was released on a future Court date after he received the required medical treatment.

 

Aug. 6 – Melita for a complaint that someone was spraying Roundup on their own property.

 

Aug. 6 – Melita for a report of an intoxicated male trying to start fights and getting into people’s faces. The male was arrested and transported to the Virden detachment. He was released the following morning when sober.

 

Aug. 7 – Sioux Valley for a report of an individual trying to commit self-harm. He was located, and transported to the hospital via ambulance for further assistance.

 

Aug. 7 –   RM of Wallace-Woodworth for a report of an individual having a mental breakdown. With assistance from ambulance, the individual was transported to the hospital for further assistance.

 

Aug. 8 – Sioux Valley for a report of a disturbance. Upon police attending, it was determined that the accused person was breaching previously imposed Court conditions. The accused was remanded into custody.

 

RCMP also responded to four false alarms, and four false 911 calls. Seven traffic enforcement actions were undertaken during this reporting period.
