Virden Community Arts Council's Pre Reveal

In March, the Virden Community Arts Council has put up posters in the C.P.R Heritage Centre gallery showcasing all the artists in our area at large. This is to point out the fact that VCAC includes more communities than just Virden.

In March, the Virden Community Arts Council has put up posters in the C.P.R Heritage Centre gallery showcasing all the artists in our area at large. This is to point out the fact that VCAC includes more communities than just Virden.

VCAC is looking for a name that is more inclusive as they serve Elkhorn, Reston, Virden, Kola, and Oak Lake.

“We’re calling the poster campaign, ‘Me and My Art’,” says the VCAC administrator Christa Milne.

All of the pictures for the posters were taken by Charlotte Artyshko.

Milne explains, “She came and photographed all of the participants. She gave freely of her time. They’re beautiful; she did an incredible job.”

There are, however, more people involved in the process of making these posters. Christa Milne came up with the design and NRG Signs printed the posters.

“They did them for us in record time. They went above and beyond, and we are indebted to them. They did such good and quick work,” says Milne, adding “We wanted the
community to see that art is more than brush on canvas. People’s art is unique to them.”

VCAC will reveal their new name at a reception Friday, March 20 at 7 p.m. A gift basket will be awarded to the person who guesses closest to the new operating name.
