Handsome young Percherons and Belgians showed in Virden, this past weekend. In conjunction with Virden Indoor Rodeo & Wild West Daze the Manitoba Pennwoods Draft Horse Futurity saw 20 entries vying for purses amounting to $10,000 in total.

Strong competition over three days made for exciting rodeo action in Tundra Oil & Gas Place arena, August 14 - 16. Local cowboys rose to the top in several events at the heart of the Virden Indoor Rodeo & Wild West Daze.

Wild West Daze, part and parcel of the rodeo weekend, with the Indoor Rodeo action turns Virden into a destination over the four days. “Downtown Daze 2015 was a success,” says Amanda Isaac, manager for Virden Community Chamber of Commerce.

On August 8, just northwest of Virden, a group of volunteers gathered to take part in the annual Western Search and Rescue Exercise.
