Staff Sergeant Steve Sumner reported 70 calls for duty between July 21 and July 27. Forty-six of the files were under the highway traffic act. During the week long period there were 3 false alarms.

The new RM of Wallace-Woodworth office building made its official debut July 24, when Denis Carter, Wallace-Woodworth Reeve, cut the ribbon, making opening day official. The plans for the RM building had been in the works for a while.

The regular meeting of the Council of the Rural Municipality of Sifton was held in the council chambers in Oak Lake at 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 14.

Starting Wednesday morning July 29, Manitoba Hydro began advising the public of small, 30-minute power outages. These outages were to occur along the TransCanada Highway from Portage la Prairie and Deleau, until July 30.

Seventeen exhibitors from all over Manitoba and Saskatchewan showed Belgians, Clydesdales and Percheron horses. See below for more photos! For two full days, the horses showed on the line and in harness. There were nearly 70 horses.

Horse riders from Birdtail Sioux travelled along Highway 83 to Virden and onward to Canupawakpa, to raise awareness for drug abuse. The ride was held from July 14 to 17.
