Kayliegh Penner of Oak Lake, daughter of Tim and Karyn Penner is showcasing her art work at the Arts Mosaic Gallery for the month of August.

The RCMP Musical Ride made its way back to Virden for the first time since 1978. A crowd of about 1,500 people of all ages filled the bleachers and lawn chairs at the Virden Agricultural Fair Grounds, Thursday, July 14.

Virden Music & Arts Festival wishes to recognize the 2016 Award Winners and the corresponding donors for their shields and glass trophies. Ongoing support of Festival is greatly appreciated.

“[The Aud] is a beautiful theatre and a nice historic building with great sound and great visibility. I remember that the crowd was very responsive and of course anywhere in Manitoba they love their fiddle music.

“It’s been a blast working under Michelle and Dean. They’re top notch people who really know their stuff but are also very open to new ideas from the cast.

With a very successful 2015-2016 concert series the Arts Mosaic is proudly releasing the 2016-2017 concert series. Arts Mosaics administrator, Christa Milne said, “We have three shows.

The town of Virden keeps making waves. First the movie, A Dog’s Purpose , and now country star George Canyon. The country celebrity and star will make his debut at the Virden Aud Theatre Thursday October 15, at 8:00 p.m., presented by 101.1 the Farm.

With a quieter summer schedule, Council met for one regular meeting on August 11. Mayor Jeff McConnell presided, with Councillors Carème, Girardin, Cowan, Koop, Penner and Williams in attendance as well as CAO Rhonda Steward and EDM Ed Brethour.
